Flash FLV is the format of choice for most web sites if you have the Flash 8 or higher player or recent browser. It uses progressive download or streaming and starts playing right away. Flash SWF format takes a few seconds to download, indicated when you see the white square. Windows Media is more picky and if you have a Mac, it won't play for you unless you have Flip4Mac.
